Minutes of the Meeting held on 21st January 2008 at 7.30pm

Minutes: Read and agreed, signed by the Chair
Matters arising from the minutes: New water heaters have been installed and South Somerset District Council have been notified.
Sharon to e-mail Ian committee members details to go on the Shepton Beauchamp website.
Tam and Dan Mason were the winners of the logo quiz, which raised £49.
Treasurers Report: None.
Secretary’s Report: Should no smoking policy be included in hirer’s agreement as recommended by Community Council for Somerset? Committee agreed this should be included in the hirer agreement.
Sharon forwarded to Janice monies from the sale of the Flower Show DVD (recorded & copied by Ian – thank you).
Fund Raising: Karen will discuss with Nic and Dave new date for Race Night.
Any other business: Bulb needs replacing in the exit light behind the stage.
John to ask the Lengthsman that during half term (w/c 16th Feb) could he remove and clean the glass in the lights.
Complaint received from neighbours for damaged caused to property and noise at the last alcohol held event. Karen will add to hirer’s agreement for consideration to nearby properties to please leave the hall quietly. Sharon to make poster.
Kevin Priddle volunteered to join the committee, he will be very welcome at the next meeting.
Question was raised about the piano? Does anyone still play it? Karen will ask playgroup and school if they use it. Ian will find out where it came from and if it was donated, Sharon to also ask June if she remembers.
Village Hall Constitution – Sharon to ask June where its kept and if we have a copy.
