St Petroc's Fayre 2018

Maypole Dancing What a fantastic time we all had with something for everyone, The Shambles was buzzing all day and well into the night, (apologies for the noise). Country dancing by our school children (and teachers) dancing around the maypole. A street party for around 80 children in Church Street, you could even learn drumming (or at least try your hand at) in the school garden.

Display of vestments in church, where the church silver was also on show, pick up your entry form for the village Treasure Hunt or put your name down for a forthcoming glass course. Teddy bears parachuting from the top of the church tower, I am happy to report there were no injured teddies although one bear was later found abandoned in the churchyard.

Time to grab a Cream Tea or pastie from Angies then a cooling Pimms from Shepton WI, accompanied or followed by one of Paul's burgers from The Duke of York. Zumba for an hour led by Lyn (however did she manage to keep going in that heat) with lots of ladies but very few gentlemen taking part. Two live bands plus a disco provided meant plenty of dancing to suit all ages and all tastes.

It was great to see just how the village comes together, we live in a very special village. Our thanks to the Events Team who were responsible for the organisation and to everyone who helped setup and clear up afterwards.
