School Egg Shackling Shrove Tuesday 2008

Again this Shrove Tuesday every child brought an egg to school for the traditional Egg Shackling. The eggs each with the name of the “owner” were enthusiastically Shackled in a sieve by Fr. Geoff “egged on” with cheers and groans as one by one cracked eggs were removed.

Nothing will be wasted however as the eggs will be made into pancakes. Each year prizes are provided by Robins Trust for 1st 2nd and 3rd in each class. As usual the singing of the “Shrove Tuesday” song rounded off the Shackling and it was back to work for everyone.
